The boys took their time getting into this game. Going behind 0 - 1 early in the game after a mix up at the back, the guys then spent the rest of the first half trying to get control of the game. Unfortunately, their passing game was misfiring and they went into half time still behind at 0 - 1.
The second half found them coming forward with more purpose and they were able to win the battles in midfield. A great equaliser by Benny bought the AAB side back into the match. However, the opposition then found ways of missing 2 penalties. The first was hit into the trees at the back of Sybil Lane and the second clattered into a very sturdy cross bar and rebounded away.
With barely a couple of minutes left the opposition broke through to be one on one with Declan, who saved the shot point blank. From the rebound, the boys quickly transitioned from defence to find Joey in space inside the opposition half. He didn't waste the opportunity to evade the defender and slot the winner past the keeper.
The 3 points were desperately needed and places them within striking distance of the top 4.
